Bangkok, 19 July 2018 - SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd. and MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of MG car reveals success for the first half of the year, with double sales of 12,028 units, from the same period in 2017. Cementing its position as leader of the innovative smart car market in Thailand, the MG ZS has reigned supreme in the B-SUV and SUV segment, for two consecutive quarters.
Since its emergence into the Thai market, MG has received ongoing support from consumers, reflected in the continuous growth of sales volume. In January-June 2018, MG reached record-breaking sales of 12,028 cars, with over 100 percent growth from the previous year’s 5,691 cars. The sales are divided for each model as follow: MG ZS – 7,565 units, MG GS – 1,297 units, MG5 – 544 units, MG6 – 207 units and MG3 – 2,415 units; numbers which reflect consumer confidence in the MG brand.
In addition, the multi-purpose MG ZS, the first smart-SUV in the world, comes equipped with an innovative i-SMART system that features the world’s first Thai language-enabled voice command. With 7,565 units sold it secured its position, for the second quarter in a row, as the number one bestseller in the B-SUV and SUV segment.
